I see wealth like it is flowing water.
I work, and the paychecks I receive is water flowing into the reservoir of my bank account. When I spend money, I draw water out of the reservoir.
Sometimes I spend too much and the reservoir shrinks as the water leaves. Other times, I draw as much water as I replenish, and the water level remains the same. The ideal way is to have more water flowing into the reservoir than I need, so that it grows in size and I will never thirst.
There are three goals to strive for to ensure the water levels rise instead of fall over time: 1) Earn more income, 2) Spend less, and 3) Invest better. The path to wealth is simple.
Earn more income. Get a good job. Start a business. Sell stuff. Ask for a promotion. Make deals. There are many ways to make money.
Spend less. Cancel unused subscriptions. Cut waste. Choose the cheaper option. Make sacrifices. There are also many ways to be frugal.
Invest better. Be on the lookout. Strategize. Learn how money works. Buy stocks. Make little bets. Believe in people. The smarter you are, the more ways you will find to grow your money.
