I’ve used my money in many ways during my adult life. Some things were a waste of money. Others were worth the money. This article is not about those things. This article is about the things I bought that were worth much more than what I paid for them. Some things you buy just overdeliver in every aspect. You can’t help but rave about them to anyone who will listen. This is a running list of my favorite purchases since 2012, and I’ve just updated it for 2021.
Coffee
Recently, I’ve been a lot less picky about my coffee. Since I like to add cinnamon and oat milk to my coffee nowadays, I’ve been preferring the darker roasts. Major Dickason’s blend is always a treat.
Community Coffee 100% Pure Chicory
I know this is not coffee, but I’ve found it very nice to have around when I’m cutting back on caffeine, but have a craving for a hot cup of joe. Chicory has no caffeine and has some health benefits for soothing the stomach. It’s a better, more flavorful alternative to decaf coffee.
If you don’t want to go too fancy with the coffee, I’ve found Dunkin’ Donuts to have some really flavorful coffee.
Smooth and pleasant with an earthy dark-roasted aroma.
Bulletproof Coffee is not so much a type of coffee as it is a way of taking your coffee. The idea is that when you wake up in the morning, you drink black coffee with MCT oil and butter added, and you feel wonderful and clear-headed for the rest of the day. I do this from time to time, and it does seem to give me energy to last into the afternoon.
I’ve had truly great coffee before, but never of the Geisha variety. Geisha coffees are the most sought-after variety by coffee connoisseurs. If you ever get to try it, taste it black with no cream or sugar at first. Chances are, the coffee itself would be so pleasant that you wouldn’t want to add anything to it.
