I am not someone who likes to live on the bleeding edge of technology, but I don’t shun new technology either. I like to pay attention and watch how things play out before making a decision about adopting something new. Only when there is a clear benefit to my lifestyle will I consider buying a new gadget. Here are the only three wearable devices that I use on a daily basis.
Smartphone
In college, I used to wear a watch, carry a flip cell phone, a wallet filled with store loyalty cards, and frequently brought a small notebook and camera with me. Then in 2008 I bought an iPhone 3 that consolidated all of that into one device. It’s a watch, a phone, a digital card keeper, a notepad, a camera, and the Internet by your side at all times. It’s also the control panel for my other two favorite wearable devices.

Activity Tracker
In combination with its corresponding app on my smartphone, the FitBit is a fancy pedometer that tracks physical activity and analyzes sleep habits. The app also allows you to track caloric intake, water intake, exercise, weight, and body fat. It will even use the GPS to track running and show the path on a map. I don’t use it for all that anymore. Now I use my FitBit every night to monitor my sleep quality.

Bluetooth Headphones
Finally, I use a Bluetooth headset every day to listen to music at the gym, or podcasts while walking or doing menial tasks around the house.
