Most stock market software finds stock picks for you based on the strengths of the stock. However, many times you already have stocks picked out, but are unsure of which one to purchase. Software that highlights the weaknesses of individual stocks would be helpful.
For example, suppose you are trying to choose between purchasing Apple stock or Google stock. You would put each ticker into the software. The software would analyze the stocks based on several factors such as technical aspects and earnings reports, then report to you on any item that was flagged as having potential problems with the stock.
For Apple, the software might point out declining sales of iPads or recent all-time highs in market cap. For Google, the software might indicate an overbought status of the stock and increased competition. You have already decided that both stocks are good choices for purchase, but now you know of some potential problems to consider so you can make a better decision about which one to buy.
Do you know of any software out there that does something similar? Let me know in the comments.
