There should be a standard format for NFT game items. That way, if you owned a magical ring NFT or a fancy blue helmet NFT in one game, you can import them into another game and use them. Or if there were a standard format for NFT avatars, maybe you can use the same avatar in many different games.
In order to implement this, we would need standards for NFT game items similar to how there are Web standards for HTML. If that happened, then games that are “NFT standard-compatible” would allow you to import and use any NFT game items or avatars that you buy online.
Since there is a wide variety of games and game types, each game might represent each NFT differently in the game. For example, if you had a magical invisibility ring NFT, it might allow you to become invisible in a fantasy RPG, but a different RPG that doesn’t allow invisibility may just allow you to move faster. And if you imported the magical invisibility ring into a baseball game, it may do nothing at all, or maybe it increases some attribute of one of your players.
