Here’s a crazy idea. What if we went to each of the most habitable planets and moons in the solar system and dumped a load of organic soil, nutrients, bacteria, robust life forms, and seeds onto each planet or moon? Will that spur the development of life on the planets? Will life spread throughout the planet and eventually make it habitable to humans?
People may be concerned about the impact on “nature,” but if we don’t think any life already exists on those celestial bodies, there could be no possible harm. It’s like, do you think anybody really cares if we left a lot of garbage on the moon?
It would be intriguing if, say we dumped a ton of organic matter on Mars and some of it began to thrive in that environment. It may be a huge step forward for possible future colonization if we found out that certain things on Earth may thrive on a different planet.
