You’ll never be any good at a job unless you learn how to have a little fun doing it. I work in the field of intellectual property law (which is about as fun as it sounds), and part of my job is to look at patents. Lots of patents. While most patent drawings are drab and unremarkable, occasionally one catches my attention.
US Patent Application 2015/0234189, FIG. 11C
When taken out of context, this invention is very concerning. [see the patent application]
US Patent 6,611,782, FIG. 2
This guy looks awfully relaxed for someone who’s about to get punched in the face by a mechanical boxing glove. But to be fair, that face is the definition of “backpfeifengesicht.” [see the patent]
US Patent 9,286,782, FIG. 14
Don’t be the unhappy armless person in the middle with a curved back. Sit up straight and be a happy (but still armless) person ๐ [see the patent]
US Patent Application 2012/0259240, FIG. 1
This is how I look most of the time when I’m working. [see the patent application]
US Patent Application 2003/0071415, FIG. 2
The fact that they attempted to draw clothing on the stick-people makes the drawing look a bit vulgar. [see the patent application]
US Patent 5,454,721, FIG. 4
This is my personal favorite so far. There’s a finger in the food! [see the patent]
US Patent 10,086,262, FIG. 28B
Now this is just creepy. [see the patent]
US Patent Application 2012/0317521, FIG. 33F
This is how it looks when you press too hard on your iPad and break your finger. Ew! [see the patent application]
US Patent Application 2006/0087831, FIG. 1
I can’t think of a good caption for this one. If you have a good one, leave it in the comments! [see the patent application]
