A big concern among users of Uber, Lyft, and taxis in general is safety. Passengers have to trust a stranger to drive them to their destination. Some situations—particularly a single female passenger being picked up by a male stranger late at night—seem especially risky. This problem may be solved by an all-female taxi service. Female passengers may feel safer if they are guaranteed a female driver.
I originally had this idea several years ago, and in doing some quick research on it, it turns out that an all-female ridesharing service called Safr began operating in 2016. But just because someone else is doing an idea doesn’t mean you can’t compete and do it better (or differently). This feels like one of the better ideas, but being male, I have no drive to pursue it.
